Friday Khutbah of Masjid Otsuka

Jan, Friday 10. 2025

All praise is due to Allah Who sent down the Qur’an with which He guided us to the straight path. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, having no partners, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

O servants of Allah! Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, is our Lord, our Creator, our Provider, and the One who manages our affairs and matters. He has made Himself known to us through the abundance of His blessings, the overflow of His generosity, the vastness of His mercy, the perfection of His power, and the greatness of His creation.

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Yunus:

Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne, arranging the matter [of His creation].…”  (S.10  V.3)

Indeed, Allah created us in stages within the wombs. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah az-Zumar:

“…He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah, your Lord.  (S.39  V.6)

Glory be to Allah! You are the One who provided for the fetuses in the wombs, cared for them with grace and blessings, and then brought them into the world surrounded by kindness and honor, in the finest form and the most complete creation. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ghafir:

“…And Allah formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord; so blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.  (S.40  V.64)

So, let us reflect on the immense power and mercy of our Lord, and contemplate His hidden grace and wisdom. And worship Him as He deserves to be worshipped. The Prophet SAW said: “The Hand of Allah is full, and spending does not diminish it. It continuously bestows, night and day.”  This means His giving is perpetual. His generosity is perfect and unceasing; His bounties follow one after another. With Him are the treasures of all things, and nothing is independent of His favor. Nothing escapes His knowledge or control. He protects us night and day from all harm. There is no Lord besides Him and no Protector other than Him. He never neglects His care for you. He does not sleep, and it is not befitting for Him to sleep. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah al- An’am:

That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things.  (S.6  V.102)

These are His signs before you, insights from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe. And He has made your religion easy for you, and removed hardship from you, And He has not placed upon you in religion

any hardship out of compassion for you, and as an alleviation from Him for you, That is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy, and He has opened the door of hope in His mercy before you, and to seek His forgiveness and His Paradis.-

O servants of Allah! Among the requirements of our faith in our Lord is that we glorify Him in our hearts and express His greatness with our tongues. The Prophet SAW said: “As for the bowing, magnify your Lord in it.” (Muslim)  So, we repeat in our bowing and in our prostration. Following the example of our Prophet SAW and we place our trust in Allah, Glorified and Exalted, just as His Prophets and Messengers placed their trust in Him. Umm Sulaym RA said to the Prophet SAW : “Teach me words that I can say in my prayer.”  He SAW replied: “Say Allahu Akbar ten times, SubhanAllah ten times, and Alhamdulillah ten times, then ask for whatever you wish.” (Tirmidhi)   O Allah, make us believers in You, worshippers to You, turning to You in repentance, grateful for Your grace, dutiful to our parents, and have mercy on them as they raised us when we were young. O Allah, we ask You for the causes of Your mercy, the resolutions of Your forgiveness, the gain from every virtue, safety from every sin, and we ask You for success in attaining Paradise and deliverance from the Fire.” (Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak)  Our Lord, indeed, we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah al-Imran:

Our Lord do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.  (S.3  V.8)

May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

O Allah! Bless us with Baraka in all of our affairs and make us blessed wheresoever we be.

O Allah! Accept our prayers and all our ibada and also all our good deeds for the sake of Your pleasure.

O Allah! Accept all our good deeds and forgive our sins.

O Allah! Grant safety and security to everyone here in Japan as well as all over the world. Aamin ya Rabbil Aalamin
