Otsuka Masjid today (2025.3.15) participated in a community cleaning program in collaboration with a Japanese NPO.

We carried out the cleaning near Otsuka Station. It was wonderful to see some of our schoolchildren actively taking part in the initiative.

We believe that teaching children about cleanliness from a young age is essential. Keeping our surroundings clean, disposing of waste properly, and ensuring we do not inconvenience others are all valuable lessons that help build a responsible community.

Japan is known for its clean streets, yet the people here continue to make efforts to maintain and improve cleanliness. Let’s follow their example and do our part by keeping our own neighborhoods clean. Together, we can create a better environment for everyone!

A Beautiful Teaching from Islam

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“Cleanliness is half of faith.”

(Sahih Muslim 223)

May Allah bless us all with the ability to uphold cleanliness in our lives and communities. Ameen!
