According to the Libyan Red Crescent Society, more than 11,300 people died in the eastern region of Derna and more than 10,100 people are missing due to heavy floods caused by heavy rains that hit Libya in North Africa from September 10th to 11th. Many people were swept out to sea, and the death toll is expected to rise further as the clean up process is underway.
Therefore, Japan Islamic Trust will begin providing emergency support to those affected by the disaster in Libya.
