Annual Quran Recitation
and Memorization Competition

Organizer: Japan Islamic Trust
Purpose:
To promote memorization and recitation of the Holy Qur’an under the theme: “The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
Participants can enjoy a full day of events including the opening ceremony, competition rounds, and the awards presentation. Join us to see and appreciate the talent and dedication of all competitors.

- Preliminary Round (online, via ZOOM): December 14, 2025
- Final Round (in-person): December 30 – 31, 2025
- Venue: Tokyo Camii & Turkish Culture Center, 1-19 Ōyamachō, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 151-0065, Japan

- Registration Method: Online through our web.
- Eligibility: Muslims residing in Japan (of all nationalities) are welcome to apply.

Categories & Levels
Children (up to 15 years old / Junior High School Students)
- Level 0: Recitation only (non-competitive, at least 1 Sūrah memorized)
- Level 1: At least ½ Juzʾ memorized
- Level 2: More than 1 Juzʾ
- Level 3: More than 2 Juzʾ
- Level 4: More than 5 Juzʾ
- Level 5: More than 10 Juzʾ
- Level 6: More than 15 Juzʾ
- Level 7: Full Qur’an memorized
Adults (16 years and above)
- Level 7: Full Qur’an memorized
Award Ceremony
Awards will be given out at the end of the day for each level.

The preliminary round will be conducted online via Zoom.
Travel assistance
may be available for participants from outside the Kanto region if they qualify for the final. Please contact us in case of travel assistance.
The final round
will be held only in Tokyo Camii (onsite attendance required).
Participants must
recite according to Tajwīd rules and may be asked to read selected passages assigned by the judges.
