Friday Khutbah of Masjid Otsuka

December, Friday 30. 2022

All praises are due to Allah. I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah the uniquely One, who has no partners in His one-ness. And I testify that the Prophet Muhammad is the slave of Allah and His Messenger.

O servants of Allah! Allah created everything and will resurrect (everyone) after death. He does what He wills and rules with what He wills. Fear Allah and fear the Day you will stand before Him. Beware of His severe punishment. The set time for this world is close to an end, and the Hour (i.e. the Day of Judgement) has drawn near. The journey to the Hereafter has drawn near.

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Muhammad:

“Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But [some of] its signs have already come. Then what good to them will their remembrance be, when it comes?”  (S.47  V.18)

These are signs authentically reported in the Sunnah. It is not allowed to reject them (or disbelieve in them).

(As the poet said):Whatever is firmly established in the texts from its signs. Then all of it is true, without a doubt. From its apparent signs which have already occured is the sending of Allah’s Prophet, Sayyidyina Muhammad SAW, the final Prophet and Messenger, the one whom Allah completed His religion with and established His proof against the creation. He was sent at the beginning of the coming of the Hour. Before the Hour comes, the days will come when ignorance will be rampant, knowledge will be lifted, good deeds will decrease, tribulations will appear one after the other. A tribulation will come and the believer will say, “This will be my destroyer.”   Then it will be removed, and another tribulation will come, and the believer will says, “Thisis it.”   A man will pass by a grave and say, “I wish I was in his place.”

Greed will be placed in the hearts of the people, and killing will increase to the extent that a time will come when the killer doesn’t know why he killed, and the one killed will not know why he was killed. Deceptive years will come, when the liar will be believed and the truthful will be considered a liar. The traitor will be considered faithful, and the faithful man will be considered a traitor. The Ruwaibida, meaning the foolish and ignorant ones, will discuss (or decide on) the matters of the public. Trust will be lost and authority will be given to those who don’t deserve it. Knowledge will be sought with the young (i.e. those immature in knowledge). So, seek refuge in Allah from his tribulation, and make eeman your weapon so that you may be saved from his trial. Allah is the only one worthy of worship. He created everything. He is the ever-living that will never die.

O servants of Allah! Fear Allah and be obedient, and do not disobey Him. Imagine how will it be when the blowing of the trumpet will occur, and the eyes will stare in terror, when the Books of Deeds are opened wide, when the ‘sirat’ (the bridge over Hellfire) is raised, when our sins are gathered, when Paradise is brought closer, and the furious sounds of the flames of the Hellfire are heard. Imagine how it will be when the time for questioning and auditing becomes imminent, when the limbs will bear testimony, and the archives of deeds will be brought-forth. Imagine how it will be when all means of assistance are cut, and the great punishment approaches! Urgently take action as the time for repentance and tears have arrived, and Allah forgives the one who repents. Indeed the promise of Allah is sure. Remember Allah. Thank Him for His blessings. Know that the remembrance of Allah is greater than everything and that Allah knows everything that you do. Allah is the only one worthy of worship. He created everything. He is the ever-living that will never die.

May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
