Dear respected brothers and sisters,

Today is the 29th of Ramadan, and in accordance with the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Ruyat El Hilal Committee Japan is leading a nationwide effort to observe the Hilal of Shawwal.

From sunset to moonset (approximately one hour after sunset, with an elongation angle of 10 degrees), dedicated observation teams will be scanning the western horizon for the crescent moon.

Our Observation Teams:

– Permanent Teams with Advanced Telescopes:

Sapporo International School (North)

International Islamia School Otsuka, Tokyo (Central)

Fukuoka International School (South)

– Special Visit: One team will observe from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan in Nagano.

– Nationwide Participation: Many Masajids and Islamic Organizations across Japan are also participating, observing the Hilal with the naked eye and submitting their reports to the Hilal Committee before the official meeting at 8:30 PM.
