Friday Khutbah of Masjid Otsuka
July 22, 2022
All praises are due to Allah the Lord of all the worlds, who accepts from His slaves deeds that are intended sincerely for His sake. I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah the uniquely One, who has no partners in His one-ness. And I testify that the Prophet Muhammad is the slave of Allah and His Messenger.
O servants of Allah! Allah the Most Exalted says in the Qur’an in Surah Nisaa and Surah Rum:
“O mankind. Fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women.…” (S.4 V.1)
“So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah (the primordial and natural design of Allah) upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.” (S.30 V.30) (.)
In this verse Allah Most High commands His servants to embark upon what He has commanded them in terms of religion, being upright and steadfast on His Guidance, adhering to His Shari’ah and safeguarding the primordial disposition and natural design of Allah upon which He created all of humanity.
O servants of Allah! Allah the Most High says in the Qur’an in Surah An-Najam:
“And that Allah created the two spouses: the male and female.” (S.53 V.45)
Allah designated for each spouse characteristics that are commensurate with his/her ability, that are suitable to his/her work and are in harmonious agreement with his/her role, in order that each spouse may carry it out in the most perfect and complete way. Allah has made marriage between men and women a divinely prescribed law and institution, a natural disposition in human beings and a divine sign. Allah the Almighty says in the Qur’an in Surah Rum:
“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves spouses. …” (S.30 V.21)
That is to say, Allah created for you from your own human species females who are (marital) spouses to you, and violating this divinely prescribed law is from the devil’s evil work and cunning deception of man.
That is to say, upright and steadfast on their religion and aloof and distant from sin, That is to say, the devils remove from them the sound primordial disposition and natural design upon which Allah created them and the upright morals which He has prescribed for them, and call them towards changing Allah’s laws that operate in His creation.
Allah the Most High says quoting Iblis in the Qur’an in Surah Nisaa:
“…and I (Iblis) will command them so they will change the creation of Allah. …” (S..4 V.119)
O servants of Allah! It is the obligation of all parents, fathers and mothers, to reinforce awareness, in their sons and daughters, awareness of the necessity of following the laws of the sound natural disposition and human natural design upon which created all people and rejecting categorically all alien, imported and intrusive ideas that are not compatible and in harmony with the teachings of our True Religion and our deep-rooted customs and traditions. They should also be made aware of the necessity of adhering and holding fast to a good role model and exemplary figure, traditions and customs, the values of our fathers and forefathers. This inevitably will result in a son growing up on manliness and its concomitant values which he learns from his father and from sitting with men folk, and a daughter growing up on noble values which are in harmonious agreement with her feminine nature that is embedded in her primordial disposition and natural constitution and make-up, so that both of them perform their respective roles in society in a balanced, harmonious and complementary way. Allah Most High says in the Qur’an in Surah Nisaa:
“And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed and excel others. To men is allotted what they earn, and to women is allotted what they earn. …” (S.4 V.32)
May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
