Translation of Khutba : Masjid Otsuka: Friday, June 15 2018

In the name of Allah Most Gracious and Most Merciful Translation of Khutba : Masjid Otsuka: Friday, June 15 2018 All praise is due to Allah Who sent down the Qur’an with which He guided us to the straight path. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, having no partners, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. Dear brothers and sisters! Just a while ago we were welcoming the start of Ramadhan Mubarak with hope and happiness and today we sent off Ramadhan with pain and sorrow. Our great hope in Allah SWT is that he would have accepted and approved our fasting and night prayers, and reward us for remembering Him and for reading the Holy Qur’an. -Congratulations for those who fasted Ramadhan with sincere faith and hope for the mercy of Allah SWT and got their past sins forgiven, and especially also for those who stood up in worship during the Night of Power with sincere faith and hope. -Congratulations for those who spent Ramadhan obedient to Allah SWT, and spent its nights for the purpose of pleasing Him. -Congratulations for those who purified their heart from all spiritual diseases and dirt, and trained themselves on obedience, righteousness, and kindness, and changed their status to a better one. -Congratulations for those who left Ramadhan and got their sins forgiven, their good deeds multiplied, their status elevated and their neck saved (from the hellfire). -Congratulations for those whom the Lord has accepted, welcomed, brought close by, and for those who were compensated with every good and nice reward. Therefore, bewarned never return back to laziness and negligence in the worship of Allah SWT after Ramadhan. Oh, you who exercised fasting during Ramadhan, don’t deprive yourself from voluntary fasting for the purpose of coming closer to Allah SWT after Ramadhan. According to Hadith narrated by Abi Said Al-Khudri (RAA) said: I heard Allah’s Prophet SAW saying “Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah SWT, Allah will keep away and save his face for 70 autumns from hellfire”, i.e. 70 years.” (Bukhari and Muslim) Therefore make your start from Shawwal. The Prophet SAW strongly recommended the fasting of 6 days during Shawwal, by saying “Whoever fasts Ramadhan then follows with 6 days in Shawwal, is similar to eternity fasting.” (Muslim) Oh, you who trained yourself standing in prayers in Ramadhan nights, don’t prevent yourself from standing even a few units (rakaat) for night prayers after Ramadhan. It is narrated by Abu Huraira (RAA) : Allah’s Prophet SAW said “The best prayer after the obligatory ones is the (late) night prayer.” And according to Aisha (RAA) , Allah’s Prophet SAW used to stand in night prayers until his feet got flat and tired. Aisha told him SAW “Oh Prophet of Allah, why do you do this while Allah SWT has forgiven all your past and future sins.” He SAW replied “Shall I not be a thankful servant (of Allah)?” Oh, you who lived with the Noble Qur’an during Ramadhan, never separate from Qur’an after Ramadhan. Live with the Qur’an during all your lifespan because it is the light and guidance. Allah SWT says in the Qur’an in Surah Maida: “…There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.” “By which Allah guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from darknesses into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path” (S.5 V.15–16) -Oh, who you were filling the Masjid during Ramadhan, never separate from the Houses of Allah after Ramadhan. Beware that manhood, honor and success require you to fill in the Houses of Allah and to link your heart to them. -Oh, you who were performing prayers on time during Ramadhan, never leave nor forego any prayer after Ramadhan. It is the link between you and your Lord. Beware that the road to success is by keeping prayers on time. -Oh, you who spent time in the remembrance of Allah SWT, never leave remembrance after Ramadhan. Beware that the remembrance of Allah SWT is the life of the soul and the peace of the heart. -Oh, you who were among the people of goodness (Ihsan) in Ramadhan, don’t stop spending on the needy Muslims after Ramadhan. Do good as Allah SWT did to you, and spend so that Allah himself will spend on you. Beware that compensation is similar to the nature of the deed, and that the result of goodness is goodness. Abu Huraira (RAA) reported that Allah’s Prophet SAW said “Do you know who is the bankrupt?” The Sahaba replied: “Is the one who has no penny nor belongings.” He SAW answered “The bankrupt among my Nation comes with prayer, fasting and Zakat on the Day of Judgement, but comes with insulting somebody, accusing the honour of another, cheating (eating) the money of another one, injuring another and beating another one, so his good deeds will be unloaded back to them, then when exhausted before final judgement he would be given from their bad deeds then loaded onto him then he would be thrown into the Hellfire.” (Muslim) Therefore never become bankrupt losing every good thing by returning to the disobediences and forbidden things (Munkar) after Ramadhan. May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment. Oh Allah!Accept our fasting, prayers and all our ibada and also all our good deeds for the sake of Your pleasure. Oh Allah! Guide us to the right path and make us of those on whom You bestows Your mercy. Oh Allah! Accept all of our good deeds and forgive us for our sins. Oh Allah! Please Bless us for our Dawah work here in Japan. Oh Allah! Give shifa to all those who are sick. and Oh Allah! Grant safety and security to everyone here in Japan as well as all over the world. Aamin ya Rabbil Aalamin.
