The idea of the Masjid Otsuka grew out of the concerns of Muslims living in Central Tokyo in the 70s and 80s who wanted to educate their children according to Islamic principles.
Masjid Otsuka was completed in December 1999 at a total cost of Yen 68,927,695.
Our local donations came to Yen 38,454,323. Remaining amount came through foreign donations.
Major part of the foreign donations came from H.R.H. Prince Sultan Bin Abdel Aziz, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Rabita Alame Islami, Makkah Mukarramah.
